Time Traveller Finds and Exceeds Autobahn Speed Limit

Claims he was trying to travel back in time to prevent certain disaster.

Disclaimer: This article is based on actual news from the real world – honestly! However, it has been sprinkled with a healthy dose of satire.

In an event that violated traffic laws, the space-time continuum, and possibly the Prime Directive, a man was caught blazing down the A2 Autobahn at 321 kilometers per hour (199 mph), in what he says was a desperate attempt to “get back to the exact moment in 1952 when it all went to crap.”

According to German police, the unnamed motorist was traveling 124 mph over the posted limit in a section of Autobahn near the city of Burg, which ironically translates to “fortress,” though apparently not one that can stop a flux capacitor.

Police initially thought the enforcement camera had simply malfunctioned. It wasn’t until the camera picked up the words “OUTATIME” on the license plate that eyebrows began to rise faster than the driver’s tachometer.

“We thought maybe it was a rich influencer doing a prank,” said Officer Hans Flickenstein. “But then he got out and started yelling something about the Libyans and ‘temporal resonance loops.’ He also had wild white hair and smelled like burnt Red Bull.”

The car, reportedly a modified 1981 DeLorean fitted with jet engine intakes, discarded soda cans, and something that looked suspiciously like an Easy-Bake Oven glued to the hood, was promptly impounded. Authorities later found three copies of Gray’s Sports Almanac, one burned-out hoverboard, and a Polaroid of the driver slowly disappearing from existence.

“He was very insistent he wasn’t breaking the speed limit so much as breaking causality,” said one officer, now seeking therapy.

Despite claims that he needed to hit “precisely 88 mph times 2.26,” the court was less than impressed. The man was fined 900 euros, docked two points on his license, and banned from driving for three months, which he shrugged off by saying, “It’s okay. I’ll just go back to before this happened and take the train.”

The man’s attorney also declined to comment except to shout “I OWN YOU NOW, McFLY” before driving away in a hover-Golf GTI.

Meanwhile, Germany continues to grapple with its mixed relationship with speed limits. The Autobahn, long regarded as the last safe space for BMW owners to feel joy, features both limit-free zones and heavily restricted areas—like the one where the man nearly invented quantum tire fire.

Asked whether he would attempt another jump through time, he replied: “I have to make sure Germany doesn’t invent David Hasselhoff.”

The court later found him mentally fit but extremely weird.
