Venezuela Responds to US Naval Deployment by Moving Christmas to October

Christmas cheer weaponized: Maduro unwraps Operation Jingle Bombs.

Disclaimer: This article is based on actual news from the real world – honestly! However, it has been sprinkled with a healthy dose of satire.

CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has officially declared that Christmas will start in October, proving once again that calendars are just “oppression tools of the imperialist Grinch.”

Maduro went on TV to announce the holiday time-jump, flanked by a blow-up Santa Claus, two animatronic reindeer with suspiciously real antlers, and a choir of government employees who had been drafted to continually sing “Feliz Navidad” until morale improved.

The holiday shift was made during Maduro’s weekly television program, Con Maduro +, a title that roughly translates to “Now With More Dictator”. Speaking alongside two nutcrackers, strongly suggesting that he’s a real nutcase, Maduro declared his intention to bring joy to the Venezuelan people. Assuming that joy can be achieved through synchronized dancing, nationalist slogans, and the occasional military buildup.

“We are bringing Christmas early to defend the right to happiness,” Maduro said, while signing off on the deployment of 25,000 troops to the Colombian border, presumably because nothing says “holiday cheer” like anti-aircraft artillery near a nativity scene. When asked for comment, Colombian authorities said through a Gen Z interpreter, “WTF bro, leave us out of this.”

When asked if this was a response to the Trump administration’s recent actions, which include doubling a bounty on Maduro’s head to a tidy $50 million, equivalent to one Rudy Giuliani divorce settlement, the Venezuelan government replied, “Yes, but only because we heard Trump was sending carolers, and we consider that an act of war.”

In response to the U.S. floating warships off Venezuela’s coast like passive-aggressive Secret Santas, Maduro doubled down on troop deployments to key oil and beach tourism zones. In unrelated news, Venezuela’s new Christmas mascot is a soldier in a Santa hat riding an armored llama named Feliz Navidad.

Meanwhile in Washington, Trump rebranded the Pentagon’s Department of Defense to the Department of War, “because subtlety is for betas”. U.S. Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, who is apparently a totally real person and not just an unlockable character in Call of Duty: DeSantis Ops, visited Puerto Rico and then a Navy vessel in the Caribbean, presumably to read “The Night Before a Narco Raid” to the troops.

“We’re here to stop the poisoning of the American people,” Hegseth stated, while standing in front of a pile of unregulated prescription ads and three pounds of fentanyl someone probably got from Ohio.

He was joined by top military commander Gen. Dan Caine, who insists his last name is actually spelled that way and is not in any way part of a CIA rebranding effort.

As part of the ongoing festivities, Venezuela deployed F-16 jets to fly over U.S. Navy destroyers, a move described by Pentagon officials as “an alarming escalation of regional tensions” and by Venezuelan officials as “Operation Jingle Bombs.”

In response, the U.S. military released an AI-rendered video of Pete Hegseth climbing a rope ladder in tactical sandals while whispering, “This one’s for Baby Jesus.”

Not to be outdone, Maduro hinted at future holiday innovations, including:

  • Boxing Day becoming literal
  • Elf conscription
  • A ceremonial lighting of the Strategic Oil Reserve instead of a tree
  • A new holiday movie tradition where Home Alone is replaced by 90 minutes of state-run footage showing Kevin defending his house from the CIA
  • Replacing reindeer with trained iguanas, which are more sustainable, less capitalist, and already know how to survive rolling blackouts

When asked if the Christmas-in-October initiative might be a ploy to distract from an economic collapse, electoral fraud, or an international bounty reward the size of a small Powerball ticket, Maduro responded by throwing glitter into the air and yelling, “Feliz Revolution!”
