- A black bear wandered onto the road during the 50th annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, surprising parade-goers when it casually strolled along with the floats.
- The bear was clearly not part of the parade, but simply sauntered into the route as if deciding it fancied some holiday cheer.
- After the parade ended, the same bear was spotted rummaging through trash in Gatlinburg, presumably doing a little post-parade cleanup or snagging some treats.
- The incident is part of a growing recent trend of wildlife, especially black bears, being spotted in and around downtown Gatlinburg during holiday events, reminding locals that the “festive spirit” sometimes means sharing the road with furry party-crashers.
